Salsa Salsa Salsa

Not going to be a lengthy post, here. Just wanted to share a photo from a feature hunting expedition Sunday afternoon as I looked around for people enjoying the beautiful weather.

This shot is from some folks dancing up a storm on the Boston Common gazebo as part of Boston Rueda’s weekly Cuban salsa dance practices.

It’s a sure sign that winter is arriving when ice skating arrives at the Frog Pond on Boston Common. Since 1997, skating on the Frog Pond has been one of the signature attractions to Boston Common. And luckily for everyone involved, Mother Nature kept the temperatures frigid for the rink’s opening celebration last night.

Here’s a few from a very cold, very dark night at the Frog Pond.

No shoes in November!?

Sometimes, the weather just makes my job way too easy, and downright unfair. It hit 68 degrees today in Boston — the average is 43.

As expected, the task of the day was to go out and get some weather features and show people enjoying the warm temperatures. In this first one, I didn’t even notice that the young woman, Sara, was barefoot until my edit!

11.8.2009 — BOSTON — Emerson College sophomores Michael Bello and Sara DeViney take a lunch break on the swan boat pier in the Boston Public Gardens on an unseasonably warm fall day, with temperatures in the 60s, on Nov. 8, 2009.

And of course, I wasn’t the only one out there trying to make some art on this gorgeous fall day. This Mass Art student decided to set up shop right in the middle of a pristine patch of leaves, in the good light, of course.
