Double Trouble

Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. Sometimes it rains.

That pretty much sums things up when you’re shooting baseball, and a pretty important reminder to always check the weather forecast and make sure you have proper rain gear.

The Herald had me scheduled for one of the Red Sox games for that weekend, but with Hurricane Irene bearing down on the Boston area, there was no way a game could have happened on Sunday. So, the Red Sox’ solution was simple —- doubleheader.

It’s been 5 years since I last shot a doubleheader, and 5 years since I shot in the rain. Just my luck, I got to do both in the same day. Some 12 hours later, with only 4.5 of those hours being baseball, I was done with an epic, exhausting and downright miserable day.

Here’s a small selection of my pictures from a very wet doubleheader.

Oh yeah, and there was some baseball being played, too.

And in case you were wondering, yes, we were all very wet in the photo wells.

But that doesn’t mean I couldn’t have a little fun during the rain delays, too!

Quack.

The Revolution will not be

Well, it seems I’ve fallen quite behind in my updating of this blog, so get ready for a short barrage of posts over the next few days.

So, to kick things off, how about a little soccer? It’s been no secret that the New England Revolution hasn’t been particularly successful the past few seasons. I shot one of their games back in July (I’m behind — I know!), and things did not go well for the home town club.

I hope my pictures can sum it up:
