Shot my first basketball of the season yesterday. Hard to believe that it’s been that long, since the last time I shot basketball was at the Florida state championships last year. This time, it was the Massachusetts sectionals, with schools from their respective regions competing for a chance to play in the state Final Four at the Boston Garden.

I shot three games in a row. Haven’t done that since the Big Ten Tourney in 2005. At least it gave me plenty off time to shake the rust off!

My branch was the South sectional at UMass Boston. Pretty dimly lit gym (f/2.8, 1/500 sec @ ISO 1600). Reminded me of my college days!

This first shot is from my first game of the day — Cardinal Spellman vs. Archbishop Williams (no idea where either of these schools are)

Archbishop Williams forward Alex Knowles, left, gives a bear hug to guard Aidan Duquette after beating Cardinal Spellman, 40-37, to win the MIAA Division 3 Sectional Finals on March 7, 2009.

One from the boys final. Abington was down big after the first half, but came back in the second half to win by double digits.

And here’s one from the last game I shot for the day. Notre Dame Academy came back from being seriously outmatched in the first half to win it.
